Tower’s 4th graders are learning an important life skill this week in Mrs. Dimock’s math class. She is teaching them how to create and manage a monthly budget like their parents do. They are learning how to make informed spending choices. Many of the students said they didn’t realize how hard this is for their parents. They have a new appreciation for sure! Mrs. Dimock had them pick life cards that showed their profession, marital status, and number of children in the family. They then had to budget a house payment, house insurance, car, car insurance, phone, internet, groceries, and an unexpected surprise expense.
