It was wonderful having Mrs. Hawkins come to our Student 2 Student meeting to share about her passion in service and how she came to volunteer with the National Marrow Donor Program. Finding a way to provide service to others, even in the smallest of ways, helps spread kindness. We are proud of our S2S ambassadors in all they do and enjoyed our discussions together about volunteering and service.

We are so proud of our Tower students! With almost 60% of our students being military connected in some way, we want to recognize them during BISD's official Purple Up day, Wednesday April 17th. As each of our students are touched by this military life (those who have military families, and those who have had friends come and go due to the military) we are showering them ALL this coming Wednesday morning in PURPLE! We are putting a call out to ALL military who can come and cheer in our students that morning.
Please be here by 0655 so we can line up and be ready to share a smile for our students. #MOMC #PurpleUp

Some of our Student 2 Student Ambassadors came to help fill goodie bags for their fellow students this morning. Each Tower student will get a goodie bag on our official Purple Up day (April 17th), as we recognize our military-connected students for their strength and sacrifice, as well as our non-military connected students for all their support for our military connected students. It isn't easy for any of our students- some are the ones who are moving due to the military, and all of them have their friends leave due to the military. We are proud of all our Tower students. #MOMC

At last night's School Board meeting, we were able to honor some of our amazing Teachers and Staff. We recognized our Campus Teachers of the Year. These outstanding educators were selected by their peers and colleagues as their much-deserving representatives for their respective campuses. The Teachers of the Year for 2024 are: IC Evans: Brittany Boyd John Tower: Amber Reitz Overton Ray: Rachel Moxley Burkburnett Middle School: Robin McAdams Burkburnett High School: Robyn Little Gateway Accelerated Academy: Tiffany Gunnels We also recognized a couple of our other departments. Our Transportation Dept announced our dedicated Bus Driver of the Year, Maddison Hickman. We also honored the leadership team in our Child Nutrition Department for passing our major audit with no issues! Those honored were Child Nutrition Director Deb Welch and her two main assistants Pam Cravens and Rosalinda Dominguez. All of these employees and colleagues are the epitome of The Bulldog Way, and we couldn't be the district we are without them.

There will be no school Friday, March 29th and Monday, April 1st. These days are designated as bad weather make-up days on the school calendar. Since we did not have to use them this winter, they are now surplus minutes and converted into days off. If you need a copy of the calendar, you can find it here:
